Uh, why do they need diesels? Specifically, why does a Town Car need a diesel? The only diesel luxury offerings in the US (for large cars) are the S Class Blutec and the A8 diesel. Let Ford focus on making Lincoln a real luxury brand again without the added complexity of shoving a heavy new diesel engine into them - it'll make production easier and cheaper if there is just a petrol option for the first few years.

Lol diesels.

The worst answer to a question Lincoln didn't ask.

I'd rather they go full Tesla before they dump money into an even pricier proposition in diesels.

This is pretty good for the most part but I don't think Lincoln Should get a Focus Variant or diesels for the flagship. They should have a midsize sedan "MKZ", sporty coupe/convertible, large flagship sedan/coupe and two SUV's small aka "MKC" and a Large one. The style of the MKZ and MKC concept are great starting points but I think if they want to go upmarket like Cadillac they have to move to RWD, and they have to get products that aren't just dressed up Fords.

I think if they really wanted to make a statement, I believe the Fisker Karma would be a great starting point for a flaship sedan/coupe and with Fords resources the problems that Fisker had technologically could be overcome rather easily.

I totally agree on the Karma. I hope someone buys the design and continues to make it!

But I think Lincoln needs names, not MKC and MKZ, but Zephyr and Town Car.

To full-on compete with Europe, like you mentioned. If Lincoln can be made global, that means including Europe, they need diesel engine options. Over there, you can get a 730d, for example. They also have a FWD A8 in Europe, but that's a different story.

LOL besides the Chinese who is going to buy a Lincoln overseas? Remember only the US is dumb enough to buy expensive Nissans, Hondas and Toyotas and call them Inifinitis, Acuras and Lexus'.

The Japanese used to buy Toyota Celsiors without a luxury badge—until Lexus launched in Japan!

Isn't Cadillac making headway in Europe too?

True, but Chevy's aren't sold in Europe whereas Fords are sold. I'm not sure how they'd react to a Lincoln. They need to focus on the US market and China before they start extending their grasp to the old world.
